Killinarden Drug Primary Prevention Group (K.D.P.P.G.) works with children, parents, and neighbours to interrupt harm before it becomes crisis. We invest in local confidence, practical support, and steady relationships so prevention is visible in everyday life. Our work is rooted in Killinarden and shaped by the families who live it.
Local residents opened space for after-school support, early intervention, and direct conversations about drugs, pressure, and choice before young people were lost to silence.
K.D.P.P.G. widened its focus to include parent leadership, home visits, and practical advocacy, recognising that prevention holds when whole households have support.
Prevention now stretches from youth spaces to family support, outreach, and neighbourhood partnerships, with the same principle: stay present early, stay present long enough, and stay local.
Prevention is not one conversation. It is the fifth, sixth, and seventh time a young person sees the same adult still there.

Field Note / Parent LeaderThe group’s work stays local by design, with activity moving between schools, family homes, youth spaces, and community venues where support is easiest to reach.
